Generating power to save
Description
In this session we are focusing on generating power to jump out and save. The drill begins with the playing jumping over the hurdles, or cones if you don’t have hurdles. The player continues to jump in and out of the middle areas, until the coach says go and then throws the ball up in the air. The coach will only throw the ball whilst the player is in the middle of the hurdles, meaning that they can jump across quickly. The player generates power to jump out by being light on their feet, bending the knees and pushing off the ground. The player looks to tip the ball around the pole/cone before returning to the middle. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
