Recovery to save & react to 1 v 1


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players reaction to save and close down in a 1 v 1 scenario. The drill begins with the coach instructing the player to move to one of the cones. The player moves and touches the cone, before recovering across the goal to save. As soon as the player makes the save, the coach then looks to attack through the wide gate to force a 1 v 1 scenario. The goalkeeper looks to react quickly to close down the angle for the coach to shoot and to put the coach under pressure on the ball. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
