Handling & protecting the ball


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players handling to protect the ball. The drill begins with the coach kicking/throwing the ball to the players chest. Once the player catches the ball and throws back, they move behind the cone/pole and into the small gap, where the coach passes the ball on the ground for the player handle and then bring the ball into the body to protect. We want the player to keep hold of the ball, to deny any attackers any chances from a rebound. Each set should last between 30 - 60 seconds and should be completed at least three times.
