Open out and switch play

Description

In this session we are focusing on our players ability to open out and switch play to enable the team to move forward. The drill begins with the GK moving to receive the ball, to open out and then play to the opposite side. The player who passed into the GK then moves back to their other pole/cone, to create a longer pass. The GK focuses on receiving the ball on the back foot to enable a swift switch of play. The GK is also practicing using both feet to give them more confidence when transitioning into a game scenario. Each set should last for at least a minute, or until the players completes a set amount of passes. The drill should be completed at least three times.
