Opening Out to Switch Play
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players ability to open out and switch the play. The drill begins with the player moving forward to receive, before taking the ball across their body, and playing through one of the gates. The closest gate should be a pass on the floor, and the furthest gate should be a clipped pass, recreating a pass out to the full back/wide midfielder. The drill should be completed on both side to work on receiving from different angles. Each set should consist of 6-10 reps, and should be completed at least three times each side.
