Handle and protect to get up and save at point blank

Description

In this session we are focusing on handle and protect to get up and save at point blank. The drill begins with the player on their knees and the coach throwing the ball either side of the player for them to handle and protect whilst diving. The player then throws the ball back to the coach who then instructs the player to move to one of the two cones before travelling back towards the centre of the goal when the coach looks to shoot for the player to attempt a point blank save. The second shot by the coach is either in the air as a side foot volley or a shot bounced off the floor. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
