Agility, quick feet and sharpness to adapt the body to handle
Description
In this session we are focusing on agility, quick feet and sharpness to adapt the body to handle. The drill begins with the player travelling through the agility ladder. When the coach shouts ‘go’ the player looks to drop out of the ladder to face the ball and handle the driven ball into the body. If the coach doesn’t shout go then the player travels all the way through the ladder before turning to face the ball. The player should stay light on their feet and should ensure that they don’t move backwards when they handle the ball. Each set should consist of 6 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
