Close down to jockey and transition to play forward
Description
In this session we are focusing on closing down and jockeying to then transition and play forward. The drill begins with the player covering ground quickly to then jockey down the line preventing space to move inside. The player then looks to transition to receive the ball on the back foot to open out and play forward. When jockeying the player should stay side on, retaining a low body shape and maintaining a distance to be able to intercept the ball. Each set should consist of 3 - 5 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
