Step and drop to head clear and transition to play forward

Description

In this session we are focusing on stepping and dropping to head clear and transition to play forward. The drill begins with the player moving towards the middle to touch the ball in the coaches hand. Once the player has touched the ball they look to back pedal to head the ball clear. As soon as the player heads the ball away, the coach passes the ball into the player to set back and move into space to receive and play forward. When transitioning into a back pedal the player should check their shoulders and retain a low body shape. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
