Attacking the ball when stepping and dropping
Description
In this session we are focusing on attacking the ball when stepping and dropping. The drill begins with the player moving around the cone/pole ahead before the coach then throws the ball up for the player to head clear whilst travelling backwards. The player then looks to drop and move around the cone behind to step up and attack the header to clear. When travelling backwards, the player should ensure that they stay light on their feet and retain a low body position to build power to jump and head the ball. When the player steps to head the ball they should make sure that they follow through as they make contact to get more distance on the header. Each set should consist of 2 - 4 reps and should be completed no more than three times.
