Move onto ball to play forward and transition to attack the header

Description

In this session we are focusing on moving onto the ball to play forward and transitioning to attack the header. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who sets back and moves across the agility ladder to repeat. Once the player has set back again they then move in front of the cone/pole to then move onto the ball which the coach passes in front of the player to enable them to play first time into the goal/gate. As soon as the player has passed the ball, they look to transition to move towards the central area where the coach looks to play a ball in the air for the player to attack and head clear. The player should look to head the ball high to keep it away from attackers feet. Also, when moving onto the ball to play forward the player should open the body out to allow the ball to move across the body to then play forward. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
