Step/drop as a unit to intercept/head the ball clear
Description
In this session we are focusing on stepping/dropping as a unit to intercept/head the ball clear. The drill begins with the coach commanding the players to either step up to the left or right, or to drop back. The coach can decide to throw the ball in for the players to intercept or to just focus on the players movement. When the players step, the player nearest the cone steps out, with the other player retaining compactness behind. When the players drop to head the ball, the nearest player heads the ball, with the other player providing cover. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
