Transition to Defend the Cross

Description

In this session we are focusing on our players ability to transition from Defence to Attack/Attack to Defence. The drills starts with the player moving through the poles/cones and out to the pole infront. Once the player touches the pole, the coach throws a ball up for the player to head clear. The player then back pedals the pole behind them to receive the ball, open out and play the ball through the gate. As soon as the player has passed the ball, they move centrally with the player on the outside taking the ball forward and then crossing the ball, for the player in the middle to clear away from goal. The player in the middle then gets set and repeats. After a set of four reps, the players swap over, and then we change the direction after each player has completed a set. Both players should complete two sets from each side.
