ABC’s to explode out and prevent attacker driving into space

Description

In this session we are focusing on our ABC’s to explode out and prevent the attacker driving into space. The drill begins with the players stepping over the hurdles, with both feet together and using power built up from the knees. Once the players have moved over the hurdles, they look to explode out and through the ladders to then drive towards the ball. The red player is the attacker and aims to take the ball through one of the gates, with the defender looking to put themselves into a position to engage and intercept the ball. If the defender is quicker than the attacker, they can look to intercept the ball straight away, or the coach can adapt the drill so the attacker receives the ball off the coach. To progress the drill, each player can be an attacker/defender depending on who gets to the ball first. Each set should consist of 3 - 5 reps and should be completed at least three times.
