ABC’s to weave quickly and defend the goal


Description

In this session we are focusing on ABC’s (Agility, balance, coordination) to weave quickly and defend the goal. The drill begins with the player weaving through the cones/poles. As the player moves out of the final cone, the coach looks to throw the ball towards the goal for the player to head clear. The player looks to react instantly to move around the cone on the opposite side of the goal and back towards the goal to block a shot played in by the coach. The player should look to clear the ball away from the goalmouth area. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
