Defending balls across the box and transitioning to attack the ball


Description

In this session we are focusing on defending ball across the box and transitioning to attack the ball. The drill begins with the player moving across the ladder and out to touch the pole. The player then looks to travel across the goal, were the coach looks the play the ball across the box for the player to clear away from goal. Once clearing the ball, the player looks to move around the middle cone, to then attack a ball in the air to score. The player should ensure they open their body when positioning to clear the ball, and should head the ball down when attacking the ball to score. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
