Stepping and dropping to win the ball in the air

Description

In this session we are focusing on stepping and dropping to attack the ball in the air. The drill begins with fast footwork with the player moving across the cones/ladder. On the coaches instruction, the player moves to step in or drop. If they step in, they move towards the pole/cone, before dropping back to win the ball. If they drop they look to get goal side, before attacking the ball in the air. Timing is important when attacking the ball, ensuring the player can meet the ball and gain power to head away. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
