Stepping Back to Clear
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players defensive clearances when moving towards goal. The drill starts with the player moving through the poles/cones before bursting out to one of the four poles infront. The player touches the pole to reenact getting close the opposition, before backpedaling towards goal. As the player nears the goal, the coach looks to throw the ball into the goal, either by bouncing the ball, or throwing the ball over the players head. The player looks to clear the ball away from goal, before moving to the start point and repeating. To complete a set, the player travels to all four poles. The drill should be completed at least three times.
