Recovery run across the pitch to intercept a pass

Description

In this session we are focusing recovering across the pitch to intercept a pass which would break the lines. The drill begins with the player moving through the agility hurdles or ladder before stepping out to the cone/pole ahead. After the player reaches the cone, they then look to travel towards the goal moving across the pitch, whilst the coach/player dribbles towards the gate ahead of them. The middle cone is used as a marker for the player to reach before the coach travels through the gate and then looks to pass the ball into the goal (towards the near post). The player looks to travel quickly before retaining a body angle which allows them to cover the space and be able to turn quickly in a game scenario if a player is behind them. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
