Recovering towards goal to intercept the ball
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players ability to recovery quickly towards goal to intercept the ball. The drill begins with the player passing into the coach (or another player) before then moving towards the pole/cone behind, as the coach dribbles towards the gate ahead of them. After the player moves around the pole, they look to recover to protect the goal as quickly as possible. As soon as the coach dribbles through the gate, they aim to pass the ball into the goal, with the player aiming to intercept the pass. The player should be aware of their surroundings and should ensure that their body shape retains balance to enable themselves to move across the goal quickly. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
