Recovering to Intercept
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players ability to transition from Defence to Attack/Attack to Defence quickly. The drill begins with the player moving through the poles/cones to burst out the outside pole. The coach then throws a ball up for the player to head, before they back pedal to the pole behind to receive the ball, take a touch across their body and pass back. The player then looks to recover quickly to prevent the coach playing through the gates on the opposite side. The sequence is then repeated on the opposite side. The drill should be completed at least three times, with each set consisting of four reps.
