Body shape travelling backwards
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players body shape when travelling towards goal. The drill begins with the player moving in and out of the poles/cones, to then burst out to the side where they last move out. The player then transitions to move to pole on their shoulder, turning the body so that they can see the ball infront and the player to the side. The player then shifts the body shape the opposite way to travel inside, before repeating the opposite side. It’s important that the player doesn’t cross their feet over when moving and is always checking their surroundings. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times. A progression can see a coach/player dribble at the player.
