Denying attacker moving forward

Description

In this session we are focusing on denying the attacker the opportunity to move forward. The drill begins with the blue player moving through the poles and out towards the wide pole to receive and clear a ball thrown by the coach. The player then looks to close down the red players space as quickly as possible, who aims to dribble through the gate. The blue player looks to slow the attacker down, deflect them away from goal (gate) and then win the ball at the right time. The blue player should maintain a body position low to the ball and a arms distance away from the ball. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
