Movement to Intercept
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players movement to intercept the ball. The drill begins with the player starting in the middle of the square. The coach has four options to say. Blue and red sees the player travel forward, back right/left means the player travels backwards. The forward options consist of two 1-2’s, on the outside and inside of the pole/cone. The options behind the player are for the player to get goal side of the attacker and win a header. The players body shape should enable them to have eyes on the ball at all times. Each set should last between 30-45 seconds, at a very high intensity. The drill should be completed at least three times.
