Intercepting, jockeying, changing direction and clearing the ball
Description
In this session we are focusing on intercepting, jockeying, changing direction and clearing the ball. The drill begins with the coach moving to one of the cones with the player following. The coach then throws the ball into the player for them to intercept back into the coaches hands on both sides. The coach then dribbles towards the player who looks to jockey and adapt their body shape when the coach changes direction. The coach then shouts ‘GO’ meaning the player then travels round the back of the cone to then attack a ball thrown in the air by the coach to clear. Each set should consist of 3 - 5 reps and should be completed at least three times.
