Stepping/Dropping to attack and clear the ball


Description

In this session we are focusing on stepping/dropping to attack and clear the ball. The drill begins with the player stepping to the cone ahead before jockeying backwards around the start cone. The player then steps out to the middle cone to attack a ball thrown in the air to head clear. The player then moves around the outside cone whilst facing forward to then move across goal and block a shot played along the ground. When heading the ball the player should aim to head the ball as its dropping and head it high. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
