Stepping high to transition

Description

In this session we are focusing on our players ability to step in high to intercept and transition to receive and play forward. The drill begins with the coach throwing the ball up for the player to head back, before they move through the middle poles. Once the player comes through the poles, they move towards the coach to intercept a ball, to then transition by creating space by moving away from the ball. The player then receives the ball, opens out and plays forward via the gate. The player should treat the poles as an attacker, moving away to win the header, and stepping in front to intercept. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps, and should be completed at least three times.
