Transition from defence to attack: Win header and play forward


Description

In this practice we are focusing on transition from defence to attack: Win header and play forward. The drill begins with the player moving to the middle cone and then dropping back to attack the ball thrown by the coach and head clear. The player then moves to the outside cone to receive the ball, touch out their feet and play forward. The player then repeats the opposite way. The player should receive the ball on the back foot to touch into space. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times each side.
