Full Back: Clearing, blocking and transition to drive forward


Description

In this session we are focusing on clearing, blocking and transition to drive forward. The drill begins with the player stepping to the pole/mannequin before dropping off and clearing the ball thrown in the air with the player looking to head away from danger. The player then moves out and back across goal to block a shot. Finally, the player moves to receive the ball and drive forward on transition. Always tell the player to clear the ball away from the middle of the pitch. Each set should consist of 3 - 5 reps and should be completed at least two times per side.
