Quick feet and agility to intercept, head and block


Description

In this session we are focusing on quick feet and agility to intercept, head and block. The drill begins with the coach throwing the ball in the air for the player to intercept who then looks to shuffle across the ladder to repeat on the opposite side. The player then transitions to backpedal towards goal with the coach looking to throw the ball in the air for the player to attack and head clear away from goal. The player should look to get height on the header and keep the ball away from central areas. The player then moves swiftly around the cone to travel across goal and block the shot. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
