Step up to travel back quickly to receive/head

Description

In this session we are focusing on stepping up to travel back quickly to receive/head. The drill begins with the player stepping up to the middle cone/pole. The player then looks to slow down and transition to travel backwards to the cone on their left shoulder. As the player reaches the cone the coach then plays the ball in for the player to control and play back. The player then steps back up to the middle to then travel backwards to the cone to their right. Once the player comes round the cone the coach then throws the ball in the air for the player to head clear. When travelling backwards the player should adapt their body shape to be side on and they should be low to the ground. Each set should consist of 2 - 4 reps and should be completed at least three times.
