Open out to play, step out to deal with the loose ball


Description

In this session we are focusing on opening out to play and stepping out to deal with the loose ball. The drill begins with the coach passing the ball to the player who looks to pull off the cone to receive and open out with the back foot to play. The player then steps out to intercept/head the ball from the coach. The player then looks to drop back to repeat. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
