Close down the attacker and prevent them turning to goal


Description

In this session we are focusing on closing down the attacker to prevent them turning towards goal. The drill begins with the coach passing the ball to player 2. As this happens, player 1 looks to travel quickly to close down player 2 and force them away from goal. Player 2 aims to turn and drive into space to shoot, with player 1 looking to prevent the attacker turning and when they do attempt to turn making a challenge. Each set should consist of 3 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times per player.
