Reacting to travel quickly to tackle the dribbler


Description

In this session we are focusing on reacting to travel quickly to tackle the dribbler. The drill begins with the player passing the ball to the coach (another player) who then says a number of a cone for the player to shuffle across. As the player starts the shuffle the coach begins to dribble to the opposite side. The player then looks to travel back across quickly to tackle the dribbler before then get past the cone. The player should spring across by staying light on their feet and pushing off the back foot. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
