Close down attacker to force away from goal to block the shot


Description

In this session we are focusing on close down attacker to force away from goal to block the shot. The drill begins with the player passing the ball into the coach (another player). As the coach takes a touch, the player looks to cover ground quickly to close the attacker down and then force away from goal to narrow down the angle and block a shot. The player should focus on their body shape and look to slow the attacker down to be able to show away from goal and stay in control. Each set should consist of 3 - 6 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
