Preventing Passes Through

Description

In this session on our players ability to prevent passes through the lines. The drill begins with the coach playing into one of the players, who then plays back and then both players step up to apply pressure. The coach aims to pass through one of the gates. The players should look to occupy the space of the two nearest gates available to the coach, to close the oppositions field of vision. The nearest player to the ball applies the pressure, with the other player preventing space to play through. The players look to win the ball or force the coach to pass into an area to intercept. After the drill has ended, the players and coach return to their start point to repeat. Each set should contain 4-6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
