Stepping out and dropping back to head and intercept


Description

In this session we are focusing on stepping out and dropping back to head and intercept. The drill begins with the coach saying a number of a cone for the player to step out to. The player then drops back below the mannequin/pole to then either react to step again or clear the ball if the coach throws it into play. The player should focus on their body shape to ensure they can see the ball and space. Each set should last between 45 - 60 seconds and should be completed at least three times.
