Sharpness to get the ball out of tight areas to finish
Description
In this session we are focusing on sharpness to get the ball out of tight areas to finish. The drill begins with the coach and player playing first time passes back and forth. If the coach shouts a number 1, 2 or 3, they the player moves to that cone before moving back to the middle. If the coach shouts ‘play’ when passing to the player, this is the point where the player looks to work the ball into an area to finish. The player can choose to turn into space by dropping the shoulder and using the outside of the foot or they can set back to the coach and move around one of the cones/poles in front to receive in space to finish first time. The player needs to stay alert and ready to react at all times. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
