Adapting the body shape to finish in the box

Description

In this session we are focusing on our players ability to adapt their body shape to finish inside the box. The drill begins with the player moving around one of the four cones/poles and back into the box. The box should be the 6 - 12 yard area of a penalty area. As the player moves into the area, the coach plays the ball in, either on the floor or in the air. The player looks to adapt their body to finish into the goal. We want the player to have to change direction and shape to make it realistic to a game, with some finishes being more difficult than others. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
