Dropping short and wide to receive in behind and finish


Description

In this session we are focusing on dropping short and wide to receive in behind to finish. The drill begins with the player moving through the middle of the poles/cones to set the ball back to the coach. The player then back-pedals to the cone behind to receive, open out and play to the coach. Once the player has passed the ball, they look to move to cone out wide, we’re the coach will then slide the ball into space for the player to receive and either take the ball down the line or inside to finish. If you don’t have a mannequin, try to use a few poles to replicate a player for the player to move past. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
