Receiving the ball on the back foot to shift into space and finish


Description

In this session we are focusing on receiving the ball on the back foot to shift into space and finish. The drill begins with the coach playing into the player who sets back and moves to the cone behind. The coach the passes the ball into the player again, who opens out and plays back to the coach. The player then moves on the outside to move around the cone ahead and around to then receive the ball on the back foot and shift into space either side of the defender to finish. The player should ensure they open the body out when receiving to broaden their options when receiving. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
