Touching the ball across the body to finish


Description

In this session we re focusing on our players ability to touch the ball across the body into space to finish. The drill begins with the coach passing the ball into the player, who opens out before passing the ball back. The player then looks to move to the cone/pole ahead of them, were they receive the ball off the coach and set back first time. Once the player sets the ball back, they move around the cone behind them, which enables them to then move onto the ball, as the coach then passes the ball for the player to meet on the run, to take across the body and finish. The player should look to take the touch across with the inside of the foot so that the touch is pushed ahead of them. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
