Transition to open out & receive on the overlap to finish


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players movement to receive on the overlap to finish. The drill begins with the player moving towards the cone/pole infront of them, where the coach then passes the ball for the player to set back. The player then transitions to backpedal to the cone behind them, where they receive the ball, open out and pass to the board (or another player). Once the player has passed the ball, they look to make a run on the outside of the board, as the coach aims to pass the ball into space as it comes off the board. The player aims to move onto the ball and finish first time. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
