Taking the first touch into space to finish


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players ability to take their first touch into space to finish. The drill begins with the coaching calling out a number of a cone/pole for the player to move towards. After the player has moved to the cone and turns back, the coach looks to pass the ball towards the central cone, where the player looks to meet the ball and touch it into space, either across the body or opening out to finish. The drill is then repeating with the coach calling out a number again. The player should look to receive the ball on the back foot to enable the touch to be taken either side. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
