Dropping in to set the ball for a first time finish


Description

In this session we are focusing on dropping in to receive and set for a first time finish. The drill begins with the blue player receiving the ball off the coach before setting the ball back across and moving out and around the pole/cone behind. As the blue player sets the ball to the coach, the red player begins to move towards the ball. The coach then looks to play into the red player, who looks to receive and set first time to enable the blue player to move onto the ball and finish first time. The red player must ensure that they approach the ball with an open body to enable the set into space. After the finish, the players then switch positions and the drill is completed. The drill can also be completed by working from the opposite side of the pitch. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps for each player and should be completed at least three times.
