Movement on the blind side

Description

In this session we are focusing on our movement to get in behind to finish. The drill begins with the player and coach playing first time passes. The coach then says a colour or number of cone for the player to move towards. The coach and player play another first time pass, before the coach plays the ball across the pole (defender) for the player make their run behind and across where the defender won’t see them to then finish. The finish should be instinctive and the message to the player should be for precision over power. When making their run in behind, the player looks to travel behind the defender on their blind side, as the defender would be facing the ball, the attacker will gain an advantage by moving across them. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
