Shifting the ball into space


Description

In this session we are focusing on shifting the ball into space to finish. The drill begins with the coach playing a 1 - 2 with the player, who then moves towards either side. As the player approaches the pole/cone, the coach plays the ball into the players feet. The player then looks to shift the ball through the middle of the cones to take into space before driving into space and finishing. When the player shifts the ball, we want them to show disguise, by taking a touch inside first as if they are heading central, before shifting the ball outside with a drop of the shoulder. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
