Moving onto the ball to score

Description

In this session we are focusing on moving the ball quickly to attack the space in behind to score. The drill begins with the red player passing to the blue player, before moving toward the vacated pole/cone. The blue player then plays the ball back to the red player, who looks to play into the coach, whilst beginning their run in behind. The blue player moves to the start point. When the coach receives the ball, they look to play into space, to enable the red player to move onto the ball and use their momentum to take the ball forward and score. The red player then moves to take the place of the blue player, and the drill is repeated with the blue player looking to score. Body shape and accuracy of passes are two important factors which enable the drill to run smoothly and at a fast pace. Each set should consist of 3 - 6 finishes for each player and should be completed at least three times.
