Close range finishing
Description
In this session we are focusing on close range finishing to reenact 1 v 1 scenarios with the goalkeeper. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player, who sets back before moving to the high pole/cone. The coach then passes to the player again, who sets back again. The coach then controls where the player will finish. The coach will either set the ball centrally so the player is coming down the line of the ball to have the whole goal to aim at. Or, the coach will set wide so the player then looks to finish across the keeper, or beat them at the front post. The finish should always be first time to create better composure in game scenarios. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
