First touch to finish: Push the ball away on the back foot


Description

In this session we are focusing on our first touch to finish: Push the ball away on the back foot. The drill begins with the player starting in front of the mannequin facing the coach. When the coach shouts ‘GO’ the player moves off either side to receive and touch away to finish before receiving from the opposite to repeat. The players body shape should be open to take the touch on the back foot. Each set should consist of 2 - 4 reps and should be completed at least three times.
